Regarding masts: telescoping or folding?

    Hi all,
    Anybody aware of the existance of such masts? that is telescoping or folding masts?

    Also, is there any known 'ratio' relationship between masts height, and the boats length?

    The concept is rather old as a lot of the old british cutters had reefing topmasts. Also the gunter rig is a simple way of reducing windage and top hamper when the full rig height is not needed.
