Refurbishing old drawings

good day to all of you !
I am collecting some old design of sailing vessel from the Lloyds Registry. A lot of those plans are damaged by humidity and I would like to refurbish them in a professional way, eliminate water marks and humidity damages, folding marks etc.
What would be a good way to do it understanding that I want to keep dimensions Absolutely Faithfull to the originals.

What is the current support of the plans? In what medium do you want to have the final plans, paper or digital? Do you want a restoration of the plans or a vectorization of them?

You need to consult a conservation and restoration specialist, they mostly work for libraries, archives, museums and art galleries. The techniques themselves depend on the individual support (paper type, ink type, etc.) and the specific damage. This type of work is usually done by the collection owner (if he has trained employees) or hired out. It's not something you can do yourself without proper prior training.

If you only want the information, the plans are photographed with different
wavelength light, then the digital copy is cleaned up on the computer and the results can be printed out on new paper. This is also something that's normal practice in libraries and archives, and there are people specialized in this type of work, as well as dedicated tools.
