    Hi everyone,

I am a boat building entusiast, but have a question regarding composites.

I am designing an upright for a race car. I am going to use a direct metal laser sintered core, with a carbon skin.

I am trying to design the core at the moment.

Laser sintering allows any 3d shape to be created.

Does anyone know what design of core would be the best? It will be a repeated pattern.

Will a hexagonal pyramid shape be best?!

    I really need some help.

    Thanks alot.
