    Hi Everyone,

a little post and a big picture, to inform you all about the current updates of the Recreational Craft Directive.

he Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) regulates pleasure craft built and used with the European Economic Area (EEA). It applies to all recreational craft between 2.5 and 24 metres in hull length whatever the means of propulsion. Most craft built since 16 June 1998 intended for sport & leisure must meet essential safety requirements if they are to be placed on the EEA market or put into service within the EEA.

In the scope of the Recreational Craft Directive, compliance with a harmonised standard confers a presumption of conformity with the corresponding essential requirements set out in Union harmonisation legislation from the date of publication of the reference of such standard in the Official Journal of the European Union.

To ensure the compliancy of your products, stay up up-to-date by consulting the official website of the European Union : Recreational craft https://single-market-economy.ec.europa.eu/single-market/european-standards/harmonised-standards/recreational-craft_en

The more recent publications concern, in particular, the following standards :
EN ISO 15083 Bilge pumping systems
EN ISO 13397 Electrical systems - Alternating current installations
EN ISO 10592 Hydraulic steering systems
EN ISO 10088 Permanently installed fuel systems
EN ISO 10087 Craft Identification - Coding system
EN ISO 8848 Remote steering systems

Transition periods are given for manufacturers to give them sufficient time to adapt their products to the revised version of the harmonised standards. The uploaded picture shows, in gold, all the harmonised standards, to be used for product assessment. In white, the already and futur withdrawn standards. For any detailed informations, download the picture and zoom in, and, please, refer to standard for any specifics.

[edit] Sorry for the poor quality of the picture. It seems that the forum script lower the quality of this picture, whatever mean i use to do it... Weird.
