I lived far east of the cave, over in Johnson County. It was too far to walk and we didn't have a working car.

 

On the Rivers - Mammoth Cave National Park (U.S. National Park Service) https://www.nps.gov/maca/planyourvisit/ontherivers.htm

When we visited, about 6 years past, this park is where we stayed but flooding forced us to abandon camp.

I'm not happy with the forthcoming, and I'm not happy with the departure either, I'll suspect a lot on both sides of the spectrum will agree with the latter...

South Carolina is still saturated and does not need rain from Hurricane Michael. Storm surge highly probable my location tonight and tomorrow. Eye of storm passing west of us over the next few hours. Probable surge 3 or 4 feet over seawall but hoping for less. Kudos to Ambassador Haley.

 

Hang on with your Lady and Peanut, please keep us updated Hoyt !

 

High tide passed with no water over seawall. It did get within 6 inches of the top.

 

This afternoon high tide may be worse but I am optimistic.

 

I hope Ambassador Haley is replaced by someone as excellent as she is.

How was Hurricane Michael's passing and its high tide surge at your place, is all well, maybe semi, or worse ?

P.S.

When time and opportunity ever may suit, then again please post an image report of the post hurricane condition of the west FL stilties, since you're the regular image reporter of that area now . .

 

We got some wind and rain, but nothing serious. High tide was at 2:24pm and the water level at that time was 5 inches below the top of the seawall. What's the point of taking vacation photos if you can't share them? They help insomnia.

 

I agree with Hoyt that this is not a Justice Kavanaugh forum, but don't worry, there are other places on the web for that . .
