I'll guess the police started this when executing a full comb job on the drug trafficking yacht, it seems like Ibiza needs a lot . .

It hadn't been mentioned before that the boat had been combed over by the police. But at least they had a legally valid reason, unlike the vandals.

The greatest act of vandalism against the local legal economy was done by the (in)competent authorities, by leaving the yacht on the beach for so long.

I'm not defending everything the government did. I'm not thinking you're going to bat for the vandals.

There's no excuse for what the vandals did, and IMO the same goes for what the (in)competent authorities did to the local legal economy by leaving the yacht on the beach for so long after it was combed.

An epic battle between a young red fox and a bald eagle for a rabbit . . .

We spoke briefly but I had inadequate power for aiding the grounded vessel. I did have a successful safety inspection of my boat and was awarded a decal by the local sheriff's deputy when he came to inquire about the unfortunate situation. The old boat turned out to be a real fixer upper which needed a lot of restorative work both inside and out. Still, he got a great deal having paid only 13 grand for the old but sturdy boat.

This was nowhere near as dramatic, but yesterday in a tree in my back yard, a falcon pounced on a rat.

Very nice photos! Looks like a Red-Shouldered Hawk.

When we got up this morning the song birds were screeching in our yard. Looked out the door and there was a Barred Owl perched at the edge of the lawn. Didn't get a photo before it flew off. :(

Great pictures Jolly, and at least 100 times as beautiful to see such in the actual event than some rabbit fox eagle footage from the web I think.

Thanks for posting that impressively beautiful bird . . :)
