I'm glad it all ended reasonably well for you and yours Nick, your yard at the left in the second video looks picturesque . . :)

From your link a picture and the video of the rescue . .

The water spout already got him. That is how he lost his mast and his cargo of sugar cane was tossed onto his deck. Now it is the sharks' turn to have a go at him.

Nick, I feel for you. Knowing there is really nowhere to run must cause the old Adam's apple to dance.

Nah, we see some artistic licence there, since the painter ran out of the dazzle paints of the trousers the sufferer really wore, in fact I've just rang the museum and they said to have the original trousers on display next to the painting, and even have commercialized the type and colors, since, and this is a scoop, it has turned out the guy was wearing his sister's trousers there !

I was mistaken, he recovered. Here is in training after. I'm puzzled about the turtle though.

Winslow was prescient too; note the ipod and ear buds...maybe that's why he's so relaxed with the far away look?
(I love the detail in these pictures, I hadn't noticed the flying fish before)

In a random thread...when does being 'on topic' become off topic?
...Well, at the risk of being off topic..

Where is the end of them, the fishermen sailing
Into the wind's tail, where the fog cowers?
We cannot think of a time that is oceanless
Or of an ocean not littered with wastage
Or of a future that is not liable
Like the past, to have no destination.

We have to think of them as forever bailing,
Setting and hauling, while the North East lowers
Over shallow banks unchanging and erosionless
    Or drawing their money, drying sails at dockage;
Not as making a trip that will be unpayable
For a haul that will not bear examination.

Thanks Nick, I hadn't seen the flying fish either, and I was wondering why the guy wasn't looking at any of the events around him, but now I see he's looking at the flying fish, which are trying to escape from the sharks I think . .

Also noted now the boat's name is Anna from Key West . .

It's really cool to see the real thing fleeing from the bow of your boat. Flying fish are quite numerous along the Gulf Coast of Florida.
