I've digged up a video of Columbia's replica which is build of steel, nevertheless they say ‘‘exact replica’’, but very nice anyway . . . . :)

Thanks for that link on the SS America. My mom sailed aboard it when it was the WWII troop ship, renamed the SS West Point. She was a US Army nurse with the 44th General Hospital. They sailed out of San Francisco on January 31, 1943 for deployment in Australia. She said they covered the swimming pools and converted them to huge dormitory style cabins to house soldiers. Very sad.

Why are the fishermen ships in the harbour ?

Must say they look very smooth and clean for fishermen vessels, is that the nature of the people there ?

The one here looks like one of your pictured girls on the way to her job with a slightly different rig . . . .

THEY OPERATE ON A QUOTA SYSTEM . IT ONLY TAKES A FEW GOOD MONTHS FISHING TO GET THIER LIMIT THAT COULD BE WHY MOST ARE TIED UP. . IN THE 60'S AND 70'S LAKES ENTRANCE HAD AUSTRALIAS LARGEST FISHING FLEET. THAT ENTRANCE LOOKS NICE TODAY BUT IT IS A DANGEROUS BAR CROSSING THAT HAS CLAIMED A LOT OF LIVES AND BOATS.

sorry about that. Good aerial pic you found. I live at the western end of the lakes 100 km from the entrance. . It is a beautiful area but gets overun with tourists in the holidays.
