I guess that must be 14k km in 6 weeks.

    Was it a BMW K 1200 GT with the longitudinal placed horizontal 4 inline (2002 - 2005), or the transverse placed 4 inline with the cylinders 55° forward-inclined (2006 - 2008) ?

If I could choose it would be the first . .

Found some pictures of the changed engine setup on the Dutch Wikipedia...

BMW K 1200-series with a longitudinal placed, and cylinders horizontal, 4 inline engine:

Not only has the engine setup been changed, the old one is a long stroke high torque machine, and the new one is a short stroke high rev machine (GT max torque @ 7.750 rpm, the other versions max torque @ 8.250 rpm) . . . :(

One thing I've pondered, given IIRC that the patent for the Ramform speaks of scaling the proportions to match the expected waves, is how a ramform would work with a much smaller boat, on the scale of ordinary houseboats.

I'm sure they would work fine on a lake ... what wouldn't? ... but what about the Gulf of Mexico (certainly not the North Atlantic but still not docile).

I'm thinking that without enough displacement the motions at sea will be quite quick and could still be quite large since it also lacks the sheer width of the ships, where a normal hull form would in somewhat rough water have slower motions.

    Ahh, my photo.
A friend of mine works for the Petroleum Geo-Services office in Houston. When this scale model arrived at the company office in town, it was loose in its shipping container and severely dammaged. He convinced me to put Humpty Dumpty back together again so we unloaded it onto my dining room table and I went to work. Many hours later and I was able to restore most of it.

Angie, it was the athwartships ' in line
the fore and aft in line was called and IS still called the Flying Brick
    look here
    http://i-bmw.com/
unfortunately in USA fuel must have ethanol by law, and then the fuel mapping goes bonkers plus the fuel destroys the fule tank sensor strip, everything bmw costs
I used Michelan Pilot road threes, yes 14000 km in 6 weeks
BMW have issues with shifting, it is terribly clunky and trying synch downshift with engine speed, blip down, blip down does not work, nothing stops the clunk
upshift if nice without clutch especially with aftermaket muffler
    so dates for the brick
