Could be. Actually, kind of prefer it was real.

Came across a comment that explains so much about humanity, it's not that we're dumb as a species but that all too frequently we're just not smart fast enough.

As I recall there was a guy interviewed on the Jay Leno Tonight Show back in September 2011 who had written a letter to an Indian news paper asking the same question about the deer crossings. He said it was a joke. A year later, the radio station in Fargo just staged the gag and made a Youtube hit out of it.

What upsets ME, is people advertising "Garage Sale" with no intention of selling their garage!

So I went to the lumber yard to buy 2x4s and build my OWN garage. The idiot clerk asked me 'How long do you want them?'
So I gently explained, "About 40 years or so, they're for a garage."

Milk was used for many things during WWII, glue and binders being most common. It out preformed the also typical hide glues. Casein could also be extruded or molded and I think just about every plastic button the US military employed was simply a casein fiber, mashed into a mold with a casein glue/formaldehyde mix. This particular concoction could be used for pipes (low pressure), decorative stuff like pen bodies, handles and the like. The GI's didn't see any of the milk, they got powdered, but they did see the proteins from the milk in all sorts of stuff. This is why it was rationed.

I wonder if the Germans thought of bombing dairy farms.

British dairy farmers removed bossy's neck bell so German ASDIC equipped bombers were unable to accurately locate the herds. Blitz type saturation bombing was resorted to, and much damage to fencing occurred. Thus the cows got into the barely malt intended for making beer.
Much shaking of the ground occurred as well, resulting in malted milk shakes.
Chocolate covered malted milk balls were introduced as "bombers", but here in the USA where we enjoy spinning tall tales, we call them "Whoppers".
Just like this entire fabricated story is one big whopper!
