How did you arrive at that prediction ? Seems to have been fulfilled in spades. Punxsutawney Phil (or his current incarnation) must be frozen solid by now. :D

Three warm country boys on the "cold case" now, how about sending a little warm sun this way. :). Yes Hoyt I do believe I have a few photos, any camera work the last 3 months is sure to have a white background. I will post a few this evening just so you and PAR don't forget what snow is.
I was just thinking(dangerous) This is the week we would normally be packing the Prairie Wagon for Daytona had I not chose to stay the winter and work on the boat. Possibly not a good decision this being the worst winter in 50 to 100 yrs.
Another thought -- this coming March 17,(still winter) will be the anniversary of leaving the RCAF and heading for Australia to join the RAAF if I had not stopped to visit my brother in Toronto and was offered a job by a friend of his at a zillion dollars an hour. Again possibly poor arcing within the grey matter.
Oh well I have a winter co patriot in Maine -- "It's cold but it's a damp cold" :p.

My sincere commiseration to Par for having to haul out the mower so soon which I get to play with my snowthrower for another couple of months. It is to weep.

In the meantime my dog and missus seem to enjoy the outdoors: my boat not so much. These pics are all from past yars - nothing special about this winter . . .

I've been around during a few dropped loads and a crane collapse. There are a number of 'areas of concern' in these photos, spectators should be out of reach not only the load but also of the boom, spectators being everyone who doesn't work for the crane company. There are an awful lot of weak links in lifting operations and if only 1 breaks, there is usually a large problem.

I think I've seen that picture of a forlorn Dace, freezing her bottom off before. Poor thing . . . I mean it's wet, but she has a whole other idea of getting her bottom wet, if you ask me.

Wow Great Stuff, Angelique. I've seen these great vessels a couple of times tied up in their home port on this side of the Atlantic. (St John's NFLD.) Crew members would often be out on the big commercial dock playing socker. The local Newfoundland boys being rugby players thought this game somewhat tame and seldom joined in. The Portuguese and the Newfoundlanders got along well, resulting in many decedents of each in both countries. Portugal was a common port of call for the Newfoundland fish transport fleet if for nothing else than to visit a relative. Those days are all past now with this fleet possibly being the last of the great age of sail.

P.S. I seem to recall "Argus" being under Newfoundland ownership at one time. Owned by one of the big fishing/sealing merchants, Crosbys, Muns, Johnsons, or one of 50 more. Fish was king and fish was just another name for Cod.
