Works fine in fully automatic mode, the manual mode is never used but the car was not available without this so called 'feature' . . .

If I didn't know better, I'd say that they should know better than to know better than their customers . . .

Speaking of old subs, here's one I found in a parking lot while working in France -

I took the picture around 1993, there was a plaque with a bit of history but I lost the picture - she's the Alose 1904, prototype of the WW1 Naiad class. Alose sounds so much nicer than Shad.

She's now a national monument: about time - I couldn't believe the oldest French submarine was just sitting there unheralded and hidden from view. But she's still sitting in a parking lot: in many countries she would probably be under cover with her very own museum . . .

France was the first to use bow planes on a submarine thus vastly improving maneuverability.

Getting a little more random... my younger son's contribution to our Halloween decorations. He's home from Korea for a couple of weeks....

The submarine plaque was a bit more legible in my photo: it will turn up one day no doubt . . .

That confuses me as I thought I finished in Marseille in February of 1996. The last French immigration stamp on my old passport - I never throw anything away - is in Feb of 1994 which also is what I remember, but my memory isn't reliable and even French immigration guys have bad days . . .
