Thank you. In all the years I've clicked on this site the pictures were always there so I never noticed the button on the right.

Dunno at all. Only thing I know of new is the 5, and sticks are rare to begin with...with modern multispeed transmissions with multi- gear lock up clutches.

Chevy Orlando, 7-seater van (somewhat downsized) with stickshift! What were they thinking? I like the size and car-style doors, don't miss the sliding doors one bit . . . not many of them around though, I've seen more Porsches!

There is no previous Orlando model...it's a new Daewoo.

I was referring to the Chevy Uplander, formerly the Venture, and its sibling the Pontiac Montana as the predecessor minivans . . .

I keep hoping the next post will be a picture or a boat, sigh.

You can be sure that chitchat about a minivan was not what attracted me to this thread.
But have fun if you must, if it really is fun.

Naturally you can only hunt swordfish when the sea is calm. Many times I see the boats head out in the calm , only to have the weather change , chasing them back to port in aggressive conditions. Decks awash. The boats are more seaworthy than they appear.

    Michael,

Do they drive the boat from the crow's nest? I wouldn't want to climb that mast.

Yup , as far as I know the driver is aloft with two or three spotters, searching for fish finning on the surface. Difficult, precise game to guide the harpoon man over the fish.

I dont know their success rate. The boats have Huge engines , so fuel burn is an issue.

Looks like they should get a RPV blimp with cameras so the boat could be more reasonable. Possibly including a radar to get a faster initial location.

A puzzle emerged-I tried to solve it.
If you have a problem with it-either don't read it or MYOB.
Or better yet, instead of whining, why not post a picture? Four of your posts here without a picture....
But it's easier to complain than contribute-right?

Spotter plans are against the law. Italian fisherman wishing to use spotter planes to locate migrating shoals of Fish base the aircraft on the African coast and only fish the African or International zone.

The harpooners pictured are domestic...only fishing the Straits of Messina area.

Swordish migrate thru the straits very close to land....almost on the beach.

Ya know sometimes I like to whine.
I said if you liked minivans have fun.

On the other had I really like your last picture.
I don't spend a lot of time surfing for pictures - I waste my time in other ways. But there are some really good ones in this thread, and I appreciate everyone's effort.

    Touchy, touchy.

The thread is as much my business as anyone's else.
