Hmmm, that would be a bad omen. But cats do always[almost] land on their feet.

    Dankje!

    Wynand N Retired Steelboatbuilder

Perhaps use this thread to post an update on my retired pensioner project:cool:

October 2010 I started a totally scratch build Lotus 7 project and everything was custom made on this car by your truly, chassis, all grp body panels, right down to pedals and ally adjustable coilover shock units.
Car is nearing completion now; just need to put the engine together and install and fabricate the windscreen unit. All the white body panels to be painted green same as the boot (side and rear ally panels stays natural) and mesh screens, bonnet clips, trim rubbers etc to be fitted on final assembly after paint job. The side exhaust runs on the left hand side of car and mounting brackets visible for same.

I only worked on the car when I felt like it and could have completed it much sooner had I put my mind to it:)
BTW, used the daily Corolla runner as scale - fronts aligned evenly.
Estimated car weight about 590 - 610kg fully completed and the engine is a Toyota 3SGTE making 190kw - cannot wait to burn some black top....:D

Don't know if kits are still available, but it seems you overlooked in Wynand's last post he build it from scratch, meaning from plans only, as can be followed via the link in his signature on this forum . .

    :) . . . . Hope this makes it clear . . . . :)

    Cheers,

Lotus Exige S 260 in Kawasaki Green - - - couldn't find the right letter color for that -

One of the shades of lime green that Kawasaki has used over the years, Wynand's boot lid seems to be a bit darker.

Mr. Lotus - Colin Chapman - was the first who ditched British Racing Green from a British race car, so I guess Wynand doesn't step out of line here, but I have to admit Kawasaki Green is not my favorite, but maybe with some black trim . . ? ?

[IMG] What's the history of British Racing Green?

    Wynand,
Well done - your usual standard - perfection...

Do not get too many speeding tickets, If you need to hide it somewhere it may just fit on the back of my boat - But do not ask for it back???

Show them ******* that a wallowing marshmallow with a guzzling V8 is no match for light, nippy and fun to drive....

Well, at least the beer was not spilled. But then again, Falstaff was not all that good.

Notice one wheel was wood spoke and one was wire spoke...at least in the front. I think it was an insurance thing.

Might have been an advertising stunt (product placement) to boost sales of a not so good product - maybe it was derailed too - the marketing people should have concentrated on product quality and reliable delivery.... :p
