Sounds like a sailboat? You're right about how it's not yours until you bleed on it etc. Can't buy that with money.

those aronca 7's sure are sweet old aircraft

a fine example of a semi equalizer rudder to take the load off the pilot

I can tell from both the painting and the last photo,..neither are my friends plane because he has gap seals on the horizontal stabilizer,..so the sun does not shine thru under the elevator,.

but I get your point ,..there are lots ofthem :)

I took the pic from airliners.net, there the right top corner search box gives 252 matching items on "Aeronca 7AC Champion"

On a second glance... my first guess, the NC 83102 from Wiki, doesn't match the painting as that one doesn't have yellow hubcaps..

Well.. waiting for a picture of your friend's Champ :)

    Cheers,
    Angel

Yep- I am taking a hard look at the Kitfox but they don't draw me in quite like one of these Champs....

If anyone has a unloved L-16a sitting around in some barn I will will be there tomorrow to haul her off!

Chase- know of any kit plane homage to the Champ?

    Oh- and a picture:

The Gorton engraver is finally getting some more time on the restoration and hopefully will be up and running soon.

there is a 12 for sale at Vichy airport Bntii (Rolla International Airport ) ,..cant remember the ident but I can check to see if it is still available ,..it's non electric, 85 I believe ,..might be a 65,..the thing I dislike about the champs is the heel brake system,.or I would of owned one already,..

Yes Angel ..that be Bills plane :) thinking last year or previous when he took it to OSHKOSH fly in although he has flown it up there numerous years,..I see the 2001 date at bottom of photo after the statement,.. Bill is a CFI but does not train in his aronca,..cant blame him ,..although there is a need for a CFI with TG rating for this area

Bnii you need to fly each first ,..the aronca and the kitfox,.. both a joy to fly,.. if you take the "bad" characteristics of each,..the kitfox comes out with a better score,..and it's side by side instead of tandem,( that's as close to unbiased as I can get :) )..cant beat the history of the champ, nostalgic aviation at it's finest

They make a lot of noise and can be fun to watch.

We had one sink last year, racing craft are exempt from buoyancy regulations, it was pulled out of the water and raced again later that day.

Fox news is reported to be covering the event. Last year a cable TV build show tried an entry, they filmed it which was kind of fun.
