Steel Plate Thicknesses

    What sort of plate thicknesses are these boats built with in the 26 foot loa range?

    Steel would be very heavy for such a small boat. You would be better off using aluminum.
    Steel would be 12 ga but weld distortion would be a challenge. 10 ga better but very heavy

    Looks like a very nice small Dutch barge. I like the look of it. My guess is that it will be built with 10 ga, which probably isn't so bad for such a heavy displacement boat in this length range. Do you have any other specs like displacement / beam / ballast ? Any idea about the designer and builder ?
