Center Console Plans... Suggestions?

I'd like to build a center console boat. 19-23 foot. Most likely strip/composite construction. Probably outboard powered.
Needs to be a good looking boat. The Glen-L designs just don't have that sexiness. The Landing School builds one that was on the cover of this year's MOTORBOAT mag put out by the folks at WOODENBOAT. Very nice looking boat.

Any suggestions?

A 19 to 23 ft skiff can be many things.

50hp or 250hp.

Clarify power .... range....and budget. low powed boats are cheap...high powered boats double the cost of materials.

high Powered Boats of 18 to 20ft have a dificult time self bailing. Go bigger if you need speed.

 

I'm thinking 125-150 hp. max. 40 knots top speed. More than likely cruising 20 knots.

No idea of the cost to build. But would like to be able to have molds cut by CNC. Strip built, wood obviously!

Another suggestion is the B&B Ocracoke 20 http://www.bandbyachtdesigns.com/ocracoke.htm Construction is cold-molded plywood. Plans and kits with CNC cut molds and frames are available. Claimed performance is "She has been clocked by GPS at 42mph (36.5 knots) with five adults on board, with only a 90 HP outboard."

This is the most popular size range for a powerboat, with hundreds of designs to choose from. As to styling, well this can be changed to suit any aesthetic. When selecting a design, focus on the things you need from it and the gingerbread stuff (how it looks) is simply garnish that can be applied to most any hull form.
