If anyone happens to have the following articles, I would appreciate an email.

    Daniel Savitsky,
Marine Technology, October 1964 Issue, SNAME

"Procedures for Hydrodynamic Evaluation of Planing Hulls in Smooth and Rough Water,"
Daniel Savitsky and P. Ward Brown,
Marine Technology, October 1976 Issue, SNAME

    "Small-Craft Power Prediction"
    Authors: Blount, Fox
    Marine Technology, January 1976, SNAME

    "Resistance Prediction of Planing Hulls"
    by Bryant S. Almeter
    Marine Technology & SNAME News, Vol. 30, N0. 4, October 1993

    Thanks!

I have the 1964 paper and the 1976 Blount-Fox paper. It is a lot of photocopying, so if you find someone else with the papers in PDF, you'd be better off. If you have any questions, or want a few figures, I can scan some stuff fairly easily.

I got a copy of Blount-Fox. How long is the 1964 Savitsky paper? Where are you located? Would it be too much trouble to mail a copy?

I assume you don't have a copy of the 1976 Savitsky paper?

I did email Dr. Savitsky, but haven't heard back.

Thanks for replying to my post!!!

(PS - I tried to send you a private message, but you have that function turned off).

    Bito/Ike:

I did contact Dr. Savitsky and he kindly responded to my email. He sent me a copy of the 1964 paper and hopefully I'll get a copy of the 1976 paper.

    Thanks for your help!!

A friend of mine works at a "major" boat manufacturer...he says the engineers refer to Savitsky as "Noah". Pretty good company if you ask me.

    Savitsky papers

    Hello,
I know I am a bit late in this but did anyone get the 1964/1976 Savitsky papers in pdf format? Specifically, I am looking for:

"Hydrodynamic Design of Planing Hulls" Marine Technology, October 1964 Issue, SNAME

"Procedures for Hydrodynamic Evaluation of Planing Hills in Smooth and Rough Water: Marine Technology, October 1976 Issue, SNAME

"Chapter IV Planning Craft of Modern Ships and Craft" naval Engineers Journal, Feb. 1985, Special Edition, American Society of Naval Engineers, Alexandra, VA.

I tried SNAME without any luck. Thought I would try you all before I bothered Dr. Savitsky. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks, Karen
