few interesting claims about new prop with front and back vanes

    Says the vanes and shroud help because they direct the water correctly at diff speeds. Makes sense, IIRC the Wright Bros homemade prop was efficient, but only at one speed/airflow.
    Claims the reason shrouds/vanes not used on commercial ships is regs require them to stop in certain distance and that means Reverse, and shrouds with vanes can't do that, or at least not do it well. (I don't see why. Might be bit less than shrouded but should still sorta work in Reverse).

    I heard the main "thing" with commercial ships is their are all dialed in to be very efficient at one speed (and displacement...prop wants to be under enough water), and that is why they don't have or need shrouds, vanes, etc.
