    Hi,

I am in a student project and we are building a solar boat for the Solar Splash contest. I am trying to design my own variable pitch propeller. The propeller would be used in a sprint of 300m(1000ft). Since it is for a race we need to accellerate as fast as possible. The boat will weight around 225kg(500lbs) and mesure around 4m(13ft). I suppose we could reach speed of about 70kph(38knot) since we have 20hp availiable.

I would appreciate to have references or ideas on what kind of propeller to use and how to design it.

    Thanks
