older mercury parts

    could someone please give me some info on where i can go to run ser. numbers to ckeck to see if diffrent parts will work on my merc. its a 70s or late 60s 500 50 hp thanks

    I use the Bam site <mercruiserparts.com> they have parts lists with diagrams and exploded views. even the parts prices are (in my opinion) reasonable.
