Currently trying to evaluate the resistence and power prediction of a multihull using Maxsurf Resistance. Since the length to beam ratio is more than the usual 6-7, I thought of using the slender body method. When I display the default mesh (which usually is more than enough) it doesn't look like anything I would expect. Any tips on the reason to this disaster?

Managed to partially solve the problem. Now, the thing is that the slender body mesh doesn't mirror on the second demihull. Any way to solve this?

This is the SB Mesh I get after deleting symmetrical surfaces. The mesh looks correct.

Wow, much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Sorry but I'm a beginner. What do you mean by deleting symmetrical surfaces? What should I do to avoid this? It's so that I don't get the same problem in the future.

Always try to make the model as simple as possible.

However, does the same way can be done if the catamaran has asymmetric hull? Or we create the mesh manually? Thanks

The procedure should be the same but, to get rid of doubts, could you show us your hulls?

I think there are too many points in that model considering that I just selected all of the object while exporting.

There are too many points, effectively, which makes working with the model very slow. Also some surfaces seem not to be correct. See picture.
Work on Rhino, if you prefer, but try to make the surfaces as simple as possible. Avoid abusing the trim between surfaces. In this forum we have seen frequently that the export from Rhino to MaxSurf can have problems.

Okay. Btw those black lines appear from the IGES. Yes I'm sorry, my bad :) . but my first model which is the symmetric cat seems ok, probably. I also make that from Rhino -> IGES -> Maxsurf and the meshing result exactly like the discussion above. I just have a problem with asymmetric cat mesh.
