    Ad Hoc Naval Architect

    It depends upon many factors, such as duty, area of operation etc etc.
    But generally they are a good addition to these type of vessels.

    At low speed they are more efficient than conventional propellers. Very suitable for work at a fixed point, as may be required by tugboats or, yes, a landing craft.
