Power Cat Hulls

    Ok here is a non designer question but I must know.
    Why do power and high speed cats not use the rounded hull bottoms like the big sailing cats? I would think this would work great just bring it up to a sharp peak at the bow like your typical v-bottom hull. Wouldnt you be able to have a resting displacment that drafts less? Perhaps put a short 3-4" sharp keel on the bottom for turning and tracking purposes. Please explain this to me as I am not a designer/engineer/architect.
