She is looking very impressive. Have you given all the timber shown a few coats of epoxy first, and now varnish on top of all the wood shown in the photo?
Varnish would be more maintenance than painting, but it does have the advantage that if you do get any rot forming in the timber or plywood anywhere, it will 'show up' much more easily.
And I doubt that you could find anything more complimentary than DC's SJCT...... :)
That could be a nice name for a boat...... :)

Thanks. We used Jack Tar Marine Varnish. It is good for 2 years. We did not apply epoxy. I used it ALL on the bottom with the chopped strand mat. After it's over, said, and done, we will have 5 coats of the varnish on the caps and inside. We are painting the gunnels and transom Bristol Beige with marine top coat. The boat will live on a trailer in my garage.

Well, it looks pretty good to me. I was looking at a couple of youtube videos that showed these really shallow draft boats in operation. They seemed to do their jobs fine. I'll be interested to see a little movie when it's time to get your feet wet with this one. Good luck with her and that's a good idea to throw a little shade on yourself while you're out there.

    Regards,

    MIA

I'll make a video for sure big brother. I plan to buy a go pro and take different angles of the tunnel working. Hopefully, my theory of the vents works.

First coat of beige paint on the port side. Now to watch it dry, sand it, then lay another coat. IMG_20200902_100331499_HDR.jpg
