I have a plug that has some stress cracks. The cracks are not deep. Should I route out the crack, fill, wet sand and buff, or should I sand the area, and then Duratec.

V the cracks down to the bottom, as far in as they go,,fill, sand, spray, wet sand, buff, frekote(or whatever release agent) and use to make more money hehe ;) ,,,least thats all i would do to them,,,other then finding out what caused them in the first place, and fix that too ;)

You are probably only going to use the plug once. For a plug, I would just fill the cracks with paste wax or clay, smooth out and make the mold. Carefully scrape and buff out any problems in the mold.
