Please please, help identify our Chris Craft "v272"

    Hi,

We recently purchased a nicely conserved Chris Craft, marked "v272" next to the Chris Craft signature. It is about 5,70m, about 19ft and is fitted with a mercruiser 888 v8 188 hp.

I am very curious to find out more about our new toy, year of manufacturing, type etc. Does anyone know where I can look for a plate with info such as hull numbers etc?

For as far as I can see, there is no plate or such on the transom. Or should I be looking for something else? A number stamped into the plastic or something?

    Please check the pictures!

Thanks in advance and best regards from the Netherlands

That boat looks to be new enough that it should have a HIN number.* Check the outside transom and hull side near the transom for a stamped in Hull Identification Number. The HIN will tell you the year.

(*Mercruiser introduced the 888 sterndrive package in 1971. In 1972 HIN numbers become mandatory)
