    "degrading" is not the same as "eating"...

    degrading might and probably will happen due to the microbes digestional byproducts - think of them bacterias in your mouth, degrading your teeth because they digest sugar and produce an acid which is the actual cause for your teeth rotting away...
    nobody claims that those bacterias are feeding on your teeth... ;)

    Here's a photo of the Plastic covering on a BB gun stock, that is being eaten off by some sort of Carnivorous Bug. A tough chewer this guy is! BB gun worm tracks.jpg

    I think 'Plastigator' was brought in by the Coon's. They were painfully ushered out of my barn by that danged BB gun.

    - they just need to eat the epoxy: according to the manufacturers of insulating fiberglass it's "biosoluble". Surely they wouldn't lie about that . . .

    There was a UK TV show called DoomWotch that featured that theme in one episode. Plastic-eating bug designed to solve the garbage problem ate the plane that the bug was being delivered in . . .
