    since rogue waves cannot be predicted, what are the strategies for assuring survival and reducing damage?

    I have seen some horrendous photos of that crossing and concurr with your sentiment. Why go to sea in a boat with negative bouancy and one that suffers compromised hull integrity after turning turtle?
