    Hi!

I'm from a group of students who needs a CAD model of a Kaplan 4.70 prop with Pitch/Diameter ratio of 1.0

I could try to model this on solidworks but it would take so much time and I'm told that anyone with PropCAD can just pump one out in no time?

Help me out? If you come to Vancouver BC we'll buy you a beer!

    Good Day to your Group...!

Send the size of Diameter and the Pitch.

    Hello!

My e-mail is michalbaz@hotmail.com! I don't know how it will be easiest for you to share it! Maybe Google Drive?

The diameter we are working with is 8 inches! Which should give a pitch of also 8 inches unless I am mistaken!

if it isn't too much trouble, if you could also do one with a Pitch of 8 inches and a Diameter of 8.8 that would be wonderful! If not just the first!

    Thank you so much!

    Hello everyone into your Group...!

Let's do the job by the book.

Please tell me more of your project's data to avoid any mistakes,

and give me few answers on the following parameters.

    Engine Power (HP or kW)
    Propeller Angular Speed (rpm)
Length of the Hull on Water Line ( ft )
    Displacement ( Long Tons)
What is th Hull Shape ( Planning or SemiDisplacenet or Displacement or Towing or Tug)
Speed of the Hull that you have designed to be reached ( Knots )

and don't forget the time difference of our living places (more than 9 hours).

Don't mind about the results sending ; I will send to your email an address
    to downlod the files.

Or maybe you need that for a Bow Thruster device ?

    Hello!

We are going to be using the propeller to generate flow in a recirculating water channel that we are designing for our capstone project! This is an image I pulled off of google to give you an idea:

    http://www.naoe.hiroshima-u.ac.jp/tank/facilities/cwc.gif

We will be powering this using a 1-2 horsepower electric motor, and intending for the motor to run at 1500 RPM (ideally). The speed of the water, which translates to the boat speed is ~1.7 meters per second, and generate approximately 1.3 m of head.

We are aware that the ideal case may not be reached given our power restrictions.

We went through some propeller curves and deemed that the Kaplan 4-70 (4 bladed, 70% blade/area) was the most efficient option, with a Pitch/Diameter ratio of 1-1.25.

We are restricted to an 8 inch diameter due to the size restrictions of the entire device.

Thanks again for all your help!

Also to add, the propeller will be surrounded by an appropriate duct/nozzle, our professor recommended the 19a nozzle geometry.

    Thank you!

Could you also send a 3D file of the propeller?

What do you mean by "3D file of the propeller?"
You have already the 3D file "OCN_3D.dxf."

Just curious about the chord distribution, seems like you have reduced chord at the tip. Is thi standard? Also seems like some skew and quite a bit of rake.
