Your effort to protect your vessel with a firearm has just INCREASED the level of risk to the vessel and crew significantly. Prison terms, vessel seizure, and extreme fines are now added to the list of potential "dangers". You will have to decide which course of action to take and only you will know if it is worth the risk! "

Avoid pirate infested area at the warm climate and choose colder route near the rim where the pirates' knicker will buckle from the frozen wind:D The pirate vessel is fast but niffy small raider that cant do extensive waiting in deep sea........ yours should be long journey size logistic happiness for a start...........:)

Not nowadays. At least in Somalia, they utilize a bigger mother ship, that carry smaller vessels, and making a passage 200 miles offshore is not safe anymore.

Narathiwat..Thailand. 5 Thai army personnels get blown up yesterday..they travel in a pick up truck..got blown by the seperatist guerilla.The only thing lost other than the 5 poor soul is their M16 and its bullets and magazines. In a teritory where weapon cannot be purchase and the sole source of supply is to rob it from the owner..
I cringed to think when the news travel afar that yacht are good source of weapon supply..

And then the old problem arises again.

"oh if your going through that area, the local pirates will try to rob you for your weapons. So you have got to take really REALLY big weapons to scarre them off...."

The answer to the armed pyshcopath is the armed citizen (quote from you lot somewhere over there) which I think is damn right!:D

Sorry Walrus..I did not understand that quote about five hotels and one Tango..what is it..?How many hotels and how many Tango than ?What that Tango got to do with the pirates and weapons..?:confused: or.. you do the Tango to nullified those pirates attack ..?ooo :)
