    Final Pics

These are the final pics for this build to complete the post. The boat runs great, its burning very little fuel, less than a gallon per hour at cruising rpm 2000rpm

At IDLE speed 1100 RPM she is running 6.5 knots with a top speed of 18+/- knots wide open 3200 RPM. Prop is currently 9x9 - 3/4" shaft.

Besides the technical specs, she is a perfectly suited boat for the conditions with plenty of room for gear and storage. The trampoline nets were customized by a hobie specialist, they work very nice also.

Special thanks to Rxcomposite for all help here in the philippines on this build.

hope everyone enjoyed the postings. We will be building a thai style boat in 2014 and will be posting the pics.

Thanks for the credits 100Islands. Am glad to help anytime.

You have a very good looking boat, excellent craftsmanship, and finish. Plus you have injected some "modernization" in the banca. You will be a hit among the locals.

    Great Post.
Reminds me of my youth at Sangley Point, PI when I was 11 (1959?). Had a 15 foot Banca that my bro and I sailed all over Manila Bay. Unsinkable with extra large outriggers. We like to go out in the Monsoon and sail surf. Parent never knew.

In those days, the Philippine people were so amicable. Our great friends. I will never forget the hospitality offered to Americans at that time. Hope to some day return.

Old thread, but very usefull, planing a project like that using 24ft fiberglass hull, a Lifan 22hp, 1” 6’ 316ss shaft and same p30-r 145mm. Still gathering info. If you still here, which barangay you are at?

Hi RXComposite, sorry for barging in but I could use some help finding boatbuilders in Visayas for a liveaboard dive boat (bangka). Any pointers?
    Would appreciate any help,
