it does not appear there is much to say. looks like they motored into an island on autopilot, wrecked on the rocks. It appears that everyone could have been asleep.

I agree. When you boil down the report's recommendations it basically says, 'don't put your boat on autopilot and sack out.'

It is kind of surprising that no one survived. coroners report was that three of the four died from blunt force trauma, and one drown. Is running aground at 8 knots usually deadly? Drugs and alcohol were not a factor, and many of the race instructions warn about these island, and show them on the maps. Calm seas, light wind, clear night. It is speculated that there was one on watch and likely dosed off.

I am betting they lost their lives trying to get ashore after the boat broke up.
Cold water, nighttime, slippery rocks and even a low swell running could spell the end for a unprotected swimmer.

Were they found with life jackets on?

Edit- on reading through the report, the bodies were discover in a "debris field" from the vessel and none were wearing life jackets.
The vessel parts showed significant scaring from "multiple strikes" and was as evident- beaten to pieces on the rocks.

Data shows a water temperature of 62 degrees Fahrenheit and mean wave height of 1.4 meters.
This looks like a grim place to have to swim ashore in the middle of the night:
