? Im building a 19 meter Cat and want to bottom paint now before turning the hulls. Does bottom paint loose its properties or die? after applied if not in the water for up to maybe 1- 1/2 years before launching?
    Thanks for any knowledge.

Most modern ablative paints can be left on for long periods.

18 months is a long time to ask antifouling to wait. These paint generally don't have good UV resistance, so by the time you do launch her, you might have just a few months of service from the paint. It will also be badly streaked (weather) in this time frame, further decreasing its effectiveness. Consider painting under the supports currently, then waiting until much closer to launch day to finish up, in the places you can reach.
