Lay glass/epoxy on uncured filler?

Is there any issue with laying new glass/epoxy onto uncured epoxy filler (in this case Epifill) or glue?
I'm modifying a hardtop and waiting for some void filler to set before sanding and building over with structural glass and it occurs to me that if I went straight to glass over the filler, as I roller the lamination it would smooth out most high spots in the "wet" filler and considerably speed things up.
The job isn't actually on my boat but for my Morgan car so although I don't want voids, final structural strength isn't such an issue.

It's done frequently, you need to make sure the filler and laminate combo isn't too thick though, you don't want the area getting too hot.

 

Many thanks - will do that in future. Filler is only about 1 - 2mm thick so shouldn't be an issue.

One common issue is pushing too hard and deforming the putty, but it just takes a little practice.

 

Yep, this is common practice and saves having to sand the fillet before laying the glass.
