Outboard Vs. Inboard Diesel Semidisplacement

    Kireo, if you're looking for displacement speeds take a look at high thrust outboards. I own a smaller boat and use a Yamaha 9.9 high thrust. 28 feet, about 8-9.000 lbs. The little 9.9 pushes my boat at displacement speeds all day at 3/4 throttle. They make much larger high thrust units. One might be suitable for you.

    Strongest high thrust are 60 hp. maybe two of them would be the minimum i should try.

    Engines in the Suzuki 70-90hp range have the right kind of reduction and larger props. There are others, Mercury "command thrust" (90-115?) also run the big props so far as I know.
