outboard problems need help ASAP

    With an old Merc like this one, saltwater corrosion issues should not be underestimated, it caused countless problems till they changed to a different alloy some time in the 80's.

    1984 was it ? I agree, prior to that they could almost be heard fizzing in salt water ! Fresh water was their natural habitat.

    Believe me if I had the money I would throw this motor in the tip and buy a newer used motor but I need at least a 90hp minimum for my boat or it would not be worth it at all
