I have to do a choice concerning outboard engines for an high speed boat having following main characteristics:

    Length hull = 12.0 m
Displacement fully loaded = 9600 kg

The basic version had 4 x 300 hp by Johnson now out of production

    The choiche is btw.:

    a) Mercury Verado 300 / 4 strokes
    b) Mercury OptiMax 300 / 2 strokes
    c) Suzuki DF 300 / 4 strokes
    d) Yamaha Vmax 300 / 2 strokes (problems with antipollution regulations)
    e) Evinrude 300 / 2 strokes (new model presented at Genova boat show this month)

The 2 strokes need 90 kg additional weight (oil to be mixed with gas + tank + piping)

    What are your suggestions?

    Important is weight & consumption....

    Thanks
