Outboard brackets and displacement speed

You're right. It did stray. The question you asked was about the relationship between hull length and drag at low froude number.

To answer your actual question, no, it probably would not. The hydrodynamically ugly knuckle across the wetted sides and bottom where the bracket joined would create unpredictable wave formations that would increase drag much more than the small increase in LOA would reduce drag due to slight reduction in froude number.

There are two for sale current in the Trailer Trawler Facebook page. One looks either incredibly well kept or recently refurbished. They’re a little pricey to me for what they are, but if it is what you’re after, there they are.

They pop up for sale every so often. I got rid of mine recently after realizing the hull is both very lightweight and wood cored. I would look for a different more modern boat, maybe a C Dory or Adventure Craft. But if you insist just keep an eye out.
