Honda throttle controls

Hey. I'm installing side-mount throttle controls for my 2004 honda outboard. Was wondering if the engine will achieve max throttle before the throttle level is actually in its maximum, "balls to the wall" position. i've never used throttle controls before, but i have used lawn mowers that were at full throttle when the level was at 60% full throttle. i ask this questions because space in the boat is limited. thanks.
