Nanocrystalline Cellulose has been in the news lately..

Anyone have any experience using this stuff in boat building or in general?

Wide spread use is coming, but refining is costly. Plastics will likely see the big benefits at first, but it costs a lot just to produce a few ounces. Modifying petrol chemicals is another possible use, though don't be surprised if Texaco doesn't come along and purchase a 51% share in the industry leader, just to let it die a withering death on a back shelf.

Yes, it's got some interesting promise, since I first heard about it back in '05, but don't hold you breath.
