    Hey, if you are going to machine up a large lump of foam anyway, then just make it a female mold.

    This will be a very expensive method. Making a mold use to cost some hundred thousand dollars. This is justified if you plan to make several boats from that mold.

    I beleive in laser cutting the frames and other internal structure and then make the skin of plywood over stringers or strip planking. Then you save a lot of work, remember the hull is the least expensive part of a boat.
