My boat is a 59 glasscraft citation runabout, 15'-er. the question(s) is (are) what type of fiberglass resin, cloth, etc. should i use on this boat? I will be repairing (mostly inside and hidden) several spots, as well as fabricating new pieces, laying over marine-grade plywood in most of these cases. My concerns are adhesion to the original 'glass, as well as as permanent a repair as possible. I only want to do this once, so i want to make sure i get the right products and procdures. any answers are greatly appreciated. to say the least i am brand new in this area, but with strong mechanical aptitude. so fingers crossed...

Use cloth, not mat, as many layers as necessary for the structure and use epoxy not polyester to bond to old polyester, sanding well before application. See threads on fiberglass repair which are numerous here.
Look at threads listed at the bottom of this screen to start out with.
