I would say, focus on the more important parts for the next year or so.

It is more important to bring her back to have some value, before we can discuss reducing it again.

ya I'm going to burn through the corrections list right off the bat and then move on to glass in the pilot house and do the raised panel.

I'll probably rearrange the aft cabin sleeping accommodations at the same time but stop there and leave off extending the trunk cabin aft and adding in a more up to date head till later

thing is your not going to be flushing that head unless your out of port cause there is no holding tank.

will be if I can figure out how to plumb it in with the original head but I'm want to preserve that original head hardware so just adding another to the aft compartment might be the way to go

there isn't a shower and there isn't a wash/dryer
its a day tripper as far as I can see and eventually I want to set it up so I could spend weeks aboard and not come into port looking like I just crawled out from under a rock

what i would do is save all the original plumbing and see if i could add a composting toilet without altering the structure

 

yes I will be saving all the original stuff right were it is so no worries
I dont plan on removing the original head at all but I do what one that I can use when in port
the composting head is a great idea
and those things are light as well and would be cake to install
they have a DC fan and a vent and thats about it
runs on sawdust

 

ok its 1500 to move it assuming they dont have to lift it off and 2k if they do
might be a little less if its already in the water

now to find a warehouse to put it in

that or a boat yard with some covered storage

who's got the skinny on how to block this thing

my bet is its every say three feet or so allong the keel and every six or so down each side
might want something directly under the chine as well

I'd like to just buy the stuff so over the years I dont have to keep on renting

found a yard but they want 800 to park it a month and let me work on it
they want liability insurance on it and me, as well as follow some list of guidelines I have yet to see

this sounds really steep to me

didn't someone mention a yard that was 300

I could park it in portland and work it there or I could trailer it straight to Seattle area and do it there

either way I just want to find a cheap place with a locked yard

 

As has already been suggested, it might be cheaper to just trailer it to Colorado and be done with it, if you have a place there to park it and work on it.

 

well its about $10 a mile and about 1000 miles so trailering it here is out of the question cause then I'd only have to trailer it back and spend another 10K
thats if I could find someone to even consider it

its 2400 to use there yard
highway robbery but thats what the guy says

might be cheaper to rent a barn out in farm country somewhere between Portland and Seattle for the winter
those folks are often looking for an extra buck and its my kinda folks anyway

if I do this just right I will eventually buy a piece of raw land and put a boat shed on it somewhere
