    Even on my DIY project, the hull is only a third of the cost.

    Depends on what the fit-out includes, it can still be a substantial part of the cost, but if it is of doubtful utility and even more doubtful resale value, what is the point. A ferro-cement boat risks being an oddity, and people largely steer away from oddities.

    :) haha, the jury is still out on that one, but I have noticed that boating people tend to be pretty conservative on the whole, and wacky ideas only get currency when it becomes overwhelmingly obvious there is an advantage.

    I've only ever seen the one I'm building now, in person. This time next year I'll know more about them than I do now.

    I wonder what happened to that youtube fella that had the little one with the 90hp 6cyl Mercury I posted. I might see if I can find any updates on his trials.
