Off-setting the outboard motor

    If you position the seat just far enough forward of the transom and use a left hand tiller model mounted on the center line you can straddle the seat sitting sideways just to the right of the centerline and steer with your left hand. This also puts your weight a bit more forward which usually helps with the trim while at the same time allowing quick access to the shutoff and tilt controls. If you have a splash well you can use it as an armrest.
