    As to conspiracy, the UN is the most corrupt governmental body on the planet! AGW started there, a proposal initiated by communist Maurice Strong, Al Gores business partner and mentor.

    To the reader;
    If these facts are true, they are an example of genetic fallacy
    Genetic fallacy - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_fallacy
    It is a factual error/rhetoric trick in that the U.N. is not a governmental organization. It is a voluntary organization of governments. It has no authority for anything and is only given power voluntarily by said governments.
    That the UN is remarked on as corrupt, but the oil companies secretly funding the quoted sites, while making plans that respect AGW, goes unmentioned, is another fallacy.
    Can any reader name it?
    Also note the McCarthyism to call someone a communist. Not a proud history to allude to. This is also another logical fallacy of relevance Relevance - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relevance

    [QUOTE="Eric ruttan, post: 876813,

    and constantly seeking more. AGW is one of the power grab scams by the sinistra.

    How many trees have you personally planted. Forty years ago, I planted 200 eucalyptus trees on a thirteen acre parcel I owned in Florida. Now, they are lovely mature aromatic trees. Mosquitoes hate their perfume. I'll admit my reasons for planting them, had nothing to do with carbon sinks, but they do serve that purpose today. and,continually reduce habitat for mosquitoes, my original intent!

    transplanter.jpeg Another one acre property I owned, and built a house on, about thirty years ago, rather than bulldoze the trees from the site, i hired a machine to scoop them out of the ground and replant them elsewhere on the property. For a privacy screen. I saved those trees lives! Just moved them out of my way. Bulldozing would have been a lot cheaper.

    My thoughts at the time, why destroy what thrives here and replace with other vegetation that might not adapt? Also, why wait decades for landscaping to mature, when I already have mature trees. Rearranging layout seemed then and now, the most appropriate.

    What's my point? I MANAGE my environment, with intelligence. The only environment I can manage, is land I own. I wouldn't dream of dictating to someone else, what to do on their land, or dream of permitting anyone else to dictate to me!

    There is a difference in words between "a moot point" and "muting an argument".

    It is probably worth reiterating a previous request: this is a boating site, and this thread it titled "Ocean News".
    Let's please keep posts here about ocean news... that is, new information or data about the oceans.
    Please take political or religious posts, or posts that don't have some new ocean news (data) to some other site. Thanks.

    Somehow the words "rapid climate shifts in the North Atlantic" and "the current decline in deep-water circulation may herald a new phase of abrupt change" don't sound as encouraging to me as, apparently, they do to you.
