Half the world's species failing to cope with global warming as Earth races towards its sixth mass extinction | Independent

A study, published in PLOS Biology, found that 47 per cent of the nearly 1000 plant and animal species studied had suffered local extinctions due to climate change. The study found that the frequency of local extinctions was similar across most climatic zones, habitats, gradients and clades. Projections suggest that if temperatures continue to rise at present rates, in 50-100 years we will be well into a sixth mass extinction.

The climate change consensus extends to all who have been successfully brainw-, er, indoctrinated.

Buddhism is in your head. Climate change is undeniable. Ask any Dodo bird, carrier pigeon, or sabertooth cat you happen to meet. Oh, yeah, they all died out due to ....drum roll please.... Republicans denying that climate changed because they don't want it to happen so they cover their ears until it goes away. Do we have a "BEEF! It's what's for dinner." sticker to give this guy?

    I never denied climate change!

It is always around. It makes the Earth more interesting. The climate can change for many substantial reasons but mankind is not one of them.

The Earth wobbling on its axis increases insolation at the poles, promoting warming. Snowbirds moving south for the winter, bringing vehicles, increase weight nearer the equator, slowing rotational speed, promoting warming. So if you want the Earth to stay cooler, stay up north, or go to Tierra del Fuego.

The Hermit Who Inadvertently Shaped Climate-Change Science
Billy Barr moved to the Rocky Mountains four decades ago, got bored one winter,
and decided to keep a notebook that has become the stuff of legend.
    The Atlantic

This story is of personal interest to me because family and friends vacationed in the area when I was a kid, a number of years before Billy Barr moved here. It's funny because as we traveled through the area by 4WD and on foot, we'd water the alpine plants with our own specially formulated blend of Kool-Aid™. This resulted in the alpine flowers blooming earlier and earlier each year. Little did we know that Billy would start taking notes on when the wild flower would bloom each year, and little did he know that his notes would eventually become foundational to the Global Warming hoax!

If I had realized how easy it was to spoof people I'd have tried it on a number of other topics as well. But as it is I can proudly say to Vice-President Al Gore, "Eat Your Heart Out!"

    OK, here it is...
Bringing weight to the equator is robbing the earth of some angular momentum...
So the earth's rotation is slowed down a bit...
Then, each day, they use the won time to make extra love...
That's why the earth gets warmer and warmer and warmer...
And, of course, on the poles you could do it like this...
    Now, on which pole is she spinning . . . . . :?:

I'm not a physicist, but I'm thinking North Pole. I'd also guess that the only time the Earth loses angular momentum is when the spinner accelerates from not spinning to full spin. And as soon as she quits spinning all that angular momentum is given back to the Earth. Of course it may be while she's spinning that the desired activity takes place.
