    Recycled Mississippi: Traveling On Trash

    https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/recycled-mississippi-traveling-on-trash#/

A 40-min documentary following a journey down the Mississippi River on a plastic bottle boat

We are on a quest to travel the length of the longest river in the USA on a boat made from recycled and reclaimed materials.

Our goal is to produce a 40 minute documentary. Its purpose is to follow the challenges of a journey on trash, to unearth the reason behind why the Mississippi River is one of the most polluted in the world, and to tell the story of how local communities along the river have been affected by its pollution and their efforts to clean and restore it.

The film will be submitted to film festivals and be made freely available to teachers and students around the world to help educate about giving waste a second life and protecting our waterways.

    The Impact

Over the past three years, our team have built 8 kayaks made from recycled plastic bottles and travelled down the longest navigable river and coastline in New Zealand. We have taken over 50 youth on these expeditions and have reached over 2 million people through New Zealand and international media.

Recycled Mississippi is the next step of our recycled expeditions. Our mission is to produce a film that will inspire as many people as possible to see waste as a valuable resource and to understand the value of keeping our water sources clean and protected.

It’s almost definitely too late to save our planet from catastrophic climate change

    https://www.yahoo.com/tech/almost-d...et-catastrophic-climate-change-194602204.html

Sadly, analysis of the climate pledges made in the Paris Agreement show that we will more likely see a global jump between 2.6-3.1 degrees by 2100.

This all sounds incredibly dire, but as the report notes, it isn't completely impossible to hit the 1.5 C goal yet. Unfortunately, it would require more than just cutting greenhouse gas emissions and switching to renewable energy. We would need to begin to remove carbon dioxide from the air.

New Zealand has just had it`s warmest ever first 6 months of this year recorded, since recording began 100years. No real frost yet but perhaps we will get a later Winter.

... and METHANE. Hows this for bad news

"An unexpected and startling discovery that plants emit millions of tonnes of greenhouse gas methane every year has plunged climate change discussions into disarray.

Trees and plants emit up to 30 per cent of the world's methane, Frank Keppler at the Max Plank Institute for Nuclear Physics, Heidelberg, Germany, and his colleagues claim."

Damn. There goes that climate model into the toilet *again*......

I think that you (and they) are lying, though, because 'the science is settled' which means by definition that there *cannot* be any more unknowns, because the science is settled......

Meanwhile it's nice & warm in Sydney.

Hyuk, Hyuk Hyuk - those dang climate modellers predicting the end of the world thru climate change got it ALL wrong, hell they never even took into account the methane production of decomposing wood, what suckers.

How the hell can they predict the end of the world with such shoddy calculations that dont even take into account the dire effect of trillions of tones of decomposing cellulose - the fools.

Like I always said, this climate change is a load of malarky ...

oh, did you ever get to analyse those ocean warming data files from the CSIRO bouys showing the catastophic increase in temperature ?

You BET its warm in Sydney ....

Exposing the Ocean's Toxic Ticking Time Bomb

Our manned submarine will dive deep into the truth behind 300,000 tons of rotting toxic munitions

    https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/exposing-the-ocean-s-toxic-ticking-time-bomb#/

    About Pentarius

Pentarius is the deepest diving privately owned submarine in the world, capable of going down over 12,000 feet. Being able to withstand a pressure of over 5,000 pounds per square inch, it is truly a marvel of modern engineering. Unlike many other research submarines, Pentarius is free-swimming and untethered from the mother ship. This, in combination with her unique design, allows the sub to explore vast areas of the sea floor in one mission whereas typical submarines only explore the area immediately around where they land. Diving submersibles certainly has risk, but with our experienced crew and record of past successful test dives off the Southern California coast, we are confident in our abilities to conduct this mission safely.

Rotting undersea munitions are harming wildlife and are hazardous to humans. Some of the chemicals directly harm animals such as the dolphin pictured below. In other instances, substances such as Lead and Mercury develop high concentrations throughout the food chain, posing a threat to humans consuming seafood

You can not trust any Scientific Research papers, most are just assumptions and self interest rubbish.
Our politicians keep on telling us to insulate our homes (which are already insulated to one hour fire standard) to make them drier, warmer healthier but insulation just slows the rate of heat loss nothing more and stops them from warming from natural sun radiation.. To make our homes warmer we need heating which most people can not afford and to make our homes drier you need dehumidifiers, again we can not afford to run them. To make them healthier we are told we need air conditioning
and a full on site health risk check which would result in thousands of dollars.
You want to see what the future homes will have to have, the demand goes on and on to create business and work for no practical purpose. And we are told Global warming is happening. We are just being made completely reliant on energy use which is in short supply.

I simple solution to use the sun for heating that is an old idea not many people use is black plastic pipe zig zagged on roof top then into a reduced piping that goes under floor boards or the wall panels and better still if build a new house with concrete floor add plastic pipe, then at night time open the tap to let the hot water flow into the embedded piping in floor or walls if not needed during the day.
The surrounding air does not need to be to warm as if the floor is warm then the feet are warm, and if the feet are warm, then the body is warm.

In NZ the power cost to run a heater is for many unaffordable which a very easy low cost solution is a hot water bottle, especially to warm the feet when in a bed, as if the feet are warm the body is warm.
