None of them uncovered any scientific misconduct or fraud. But again: instead of believing those eight investigations by reputable agencies, you're going to believe the anonymous hackers -- because they're the ones saying what you want to hear.

East Anglia has been a bankrupt uni for over 10 years and its the only one that creates climate change data for the UK gov, just a co-incidence I guess
It would be in the bottom 5 of any poll of Uni's in the UK, internationally probably doesn't make any list

Sydney Morning Herald | Ports alerted to climate change shocks ahead

The national climate adaption facility examined Sydney, Port Kembla and Gladstone ports - all of which are bottlenecks for imports and exports - and found they could face serious problems by 2070.

''The ports are already starting to see shocks in their supply chains from extreme weather, and without a doubt these are increasing and significant,'' said one of the report's authors, Jane Mullett, a research fellow at Melbourne's RMIT. ''Then in the longer term, the impacts of sea level rise and extreme weather will be felt more and more. So most of them are starting to think through these problems now.''

Dr Mullett and other researchers evaluated a range of climate change scenarios and interviewed port workers to build an online ''toolkit'' to help port authorities adapt to climate change. Among other things, Dr Mullett's report found that the physical fabric of port structures would corrode much more quickly in the future, as sea levels rise and storms become more powerful. In some cases, the lifespan of concrete would decrease by 16 years…

Port authorities said they would work through the findings. ''What was interesting to us was the focus on what they call the 'hinterland' - the road and rail links that support the port - because if the port's built to survive sea level rise but you can't get anything in or out, then the port's effectively closed,'' said Mark Ireland, the sustainability manager at the Sydney Ports Corporation. A single road and a single rail link carry almost all traffic in and out of Port Botany, and they will be at risk of going underwater during storms…

The Telegraph | Climate change threatens to reverse huge gains in lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty

First the good news: unprecedented growth in developing countries has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty over the last two decades, according to a blue-chip UN report published yesterday. Now the bad: climate change, it adds, threatens to plunge them back into destitution again.

This year's Human Development Report, published by the United Nations Development Programme, confirms that India and China have both doubled their output per person in less than 20 years – and adds that, together with Brazil, they will surpass the combined output of the US, Canada, Germany, France, Italy and Britain combined by the end of this decade.

In the process, the share of the world's people living in extreme poverty plummeted from 43 per cent in 1990 to 22 per cent in 2008 – including a fall of a staggering 500 million poor in China alone…

Yet much remains to be done: at least 1.5 billion people still live in dire poverty, including 612 million in India, from which Britain is withdrawing aid. And the report adds that “environmental inaction”, especially over climate change could “halt, or even reverse” progress. It says global warming is “already exacerbating chronic environmental threats” and adds: “The number of people in extreme poverty could increase to three billion by 2050 unless environmental disasters are averted by co-ordinated global action”…

Edmonton Journal | Climate change could turn polar bears brown: study

… But there is one group of brown bears that has shown signs of mixed heritage — the so-called ABC bears on the Admiralty, Baranof and Chichagof Islands off the coast of Alaska. Previous studies of some of their DNA have shown the ABC bears are more closely related to polar bears than they are to other browns…

Shapiro's paper suggests that the ABC bears are a remnant of an ancient population of polar bears that lived in the area during the last Ice Age. As that period ended and the ice slowly retreated, the ABC population got cut off from other polar bears.

"They couldn't mate with any more polar bears," Shapiro said.

"As the weather started to get warmer and warmer, brown bears — males, as it turns out — could swim across the channel that separated the ABC islands from the Alaskan mainland and colonize these islands. There they ran into this isolated, trapped population of polar bears and they started hybridizing with them..."

"I guess it means if we destroy all their habitat, and the only habitat that's left for polar bears looks like brown bear habitat, then they're just going to hybridize with brown bears and turn into brown bears…"

You're apparently trying to imply that because the school where it's located is bankrupt, the Climate Research Unit at East Anglia is producing fraudulent research to get money from the British government (even though that isn't where it gets its funding). Then you try to smear it even more, by claiming East Anglia is in the 'bottom 5' of Universities in the UK.

Bottom five how? Percentage of students graduated? Cost of classes? Number of students who find jobs in their chosen field? Cleanliness of its dorm rooms? Who decided it was in the bottom five, and what does any of that have to do with the CRU? It certainly isn't in the bottom five in climate research, since you said it's the only such university-affiliated climate research center in the country.

And while we're at it, what does any of that have to do with my post, which correctly points out that eight (count them... EIGHT) major investigations found no evidence of hanky panky in the CRU's work?

I might as well also point out that the CRU at East Anglia was founded in 1971, and has been doing research that indicates climate change is real for a lot longer than the ten years you claim the university it's affiliated with has been bankrupt....

Don't let the urgent displace the important...

How does it keep the doors open?
( There are no Private Universities in the UK)
